Expanding our range of sustainable funds
We’ve expanded our range of sustainable funds. This means more choice for your employees who want to align their investments with their views on environmental and social issues, while supporting their financial goals within their risk appetite.
- Managed by the award-winning1 Royal London Asset Management, which has been running sustainable funds for over 20 years.
- The underlying UK funds recently adopted the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (SDR) Sustainability Focus label.2
- Your employees can use the funds on an individual basis or as part of their portfolio.
- £2.6 billion in assets under management.3
The launch of three additional sustainable funds is the latest enhancement to Royal London’s investment proposition. It’s part of its ongoing commitment to supporting positive customer outcomes. As Andrew Kitchen, Head of Responsible Investment Proposition at Royal London, explains: "We constantly review and evolve our propositions to ensure they continue to meet customer needs and expectations.
We believe that sustainable investing makes sense financially, while also benefiting wider society and the environment. These additional funds reinforce our position as a purpose-driven mutual, with a clear focus on playing our part in moving fairly to a sustainable world.”
Choice of funds for your employees
We now have nine sustainable funds, giving your employees the choice of a fund or combination of funds that most closely aligns with how much risk they're comfortable taking. These range from 100% fixed income investments (like bonds) to 100% equities (shares in companies). There are mixed asset funds holding varying proportions of fixed income assets and equities in between.

The three additional funds added are:
- RLS Sustainable Growth Fund (mixed asset) – UK based
- RLS Sustainable Short Duration Corporate Bond Fund (100% fixed income) – UK based
- RLS Global Sustainable Credit Fund (100% fixed income) – Offshore.2
Your employees can invest in the nine sustainable funds on an individual basis or as part of a portfolio. The RLS Sustainable Leaders Fund and the RLS Global Sustainable Equity Fund can also be chosen as the equity fund within our Governed Range portfolios, at no extra charge.4
An approach focused on sustainability and financials
The funds aim to grow your employees’ money by investing in companies that contribute positively to the environment and society.
Your employees can be confident that investments are thoroughly researched to meet certain sustainability requirements. As Andrew Kitchen explains: “The Sustainability Focus label demonstrates Royal London Asset Management’s ongoing commitment to meeting high standards of sustainable investment. It researches each potential investment to decide whether it’s suitable from a sustainability and financial perspective.”
Royal London Asset Management focuses on innovative, sustainable businesses - those with strong leadership, durable competitive advantages, and a clear commitment to positive societal impact.
Each investment must demonstrate a meaningful contribution to society, whether through its products, services, or operational practices aligned to four sustainable themes. For the UK funds, this means considering sustainable companies that are clean, healthy, safe and inclusive. For the offshore fund, this means considering companies that are cleaner, healthier, safer and more inclusive.

2 The SDR labels apply to the underlying UK-based funds. One of the underlying sustainable funds – the RLS Global Sustainable Credit Fund – is an offshore fund regulated in Ireland, so it doesn’t have a label. However, while the investment processes differ, the sustainable approach is the same across all the funds.
