The importance of financial advice

At Royal London, we promote independent financial advice because we believe it helps customers make informed decisions and build long-term financial resilience.

Find a financial adviser

If you don't have a financial adviser, there's a number of directories that can be used to search for financial advisers in your area. These directories will set out what services they offer so you can choose the financial adviser that's right for you. Advisers may charge for their services – though they should agree any fees with you upfront.

For example, VouchedFor is a directory of advisers independent to Royal London. Their advisers are checked against the Financial Conduct Authority Register and they can sell a range of products, not just those from us.

VouchedFor (opens in new window) provides details and customer reviews of financial advisers, mortgage advisers, solicitors, and accountants.

Using VouchedFor:

  1. Visit VouchedFor directory. Click here to access the VouchedFor directory.
  2. Enter location. In the search bar, enter your location or postcode.
  3. Select service filters. Choose filters such as, I am looking for help with ‘Pensions, pension transfers, auto enrolment’.
  4. Review advisers' profiles. Look for advisers mentioning pension expertise & services in their profiles.
  5. Contact advisers directly. Confirm they specialise in workplace pensions and can assist with employer needs.

Unbiased (opens new window) allows users to get advice from FCA regulated advisers.

Using Unbiased:

  1. Visit Unbiased, and select "Find a financial adviser".
  2. Select "Show more options" and choose "Business".
  3. Select the service that applies to you, for example, "Group pensions" or "Corporate pension".
  4. Enter your details: name, postcode and email. And your matched advisers will be sent to you.
  5. Contact advisers directly. Confirm they specialise in workplace pensions and can assist with your needs as an employer.

Financial advice for your employees

If you're looking for financial advice for your employees, please refer them to our financial advice page. It explains how advisers can support employees in making important money decisions and help them plan for both the short and long term — whether they’re considering pensions and investments or looking at insurance and mortgage options. The page also outlines how to decide if financial advice is right for them, how to choose an adviser, and the advice process.

Make sure your adviser is authorised to provide advice

You can use the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) Financial Services Register, to make sure you've found a regulated adviser and avoid potential scams.

Through this register you can check that:

  • The adviser, or firm they work for, is authorised to give advice.
  • You have the correct contact details.
